Debuting at the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the JCG Restoration and Customs ’70 Challenger hit the show floor in its iconic Plum Crazy Purple hue. Equipped with all of the latest hardware available to the public at the time, it captured the attention of show-goers from all over the world.
Built by Cris Gonzalez, the purple Challenger features a Chevrolet Performance LS376/525 crate engine, with a Tremec Magnum T-56 and an ACT clutch to handle shifting duties. Relying on a VaporWorx fuel system to feed the Chevy powerplant (sorry Mopar purists), all those spent exhaust fumes are pushed through a Borla exhaust attached to Kooks headers.
There are plenty of unique touches integrated into the old Dodge as well, including JCG’s own custom fuel tank, fender flairs and rear spoiler. It also features JCG front and rear suspension with JRi coil-overs, in addition to a Speedway Engineering “floater” rearend. Wilwood Disc Brakes provide the stopping power at all four corners, while Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (305/30ZR19 & 345/30ZR19) wrapped around Forgeline ZX3R wheels (19×11 & 19×12) provide plenty of grip.
The hood, trunk and bumpers are supplied by AAR Fiberglass for an aggressive look and a slight weight reduction. Inside the cockpit, a Sparco steering wheel and seats keep the driver in control, while Speed Hut gauges keep them informed. If you want to add this Mopar to your collection, the asking price for the Challenger is $100,000, and all serious inquires can contact: Cris Gonzalez at cris@jcgcustoms.com.
