While every muscle car enthusiast recognizes the performance potential within the Second-Gen (1970-1981) GM F-Body, the factory chassis does have its limitations. One of these is in the front suspension design, as there is insufficient space to mount a true, modern 2.5-inch race-style coil-over setup. The fix for this has always been to custom-fabricate mounts, which is time consuming and expensive. The suspension gurus at UMI Performance recognized the need for a premium quality kit to make this task easier, and responded with P/N 2661. This kit has everything necessary to make this once-difficult task much simpler. Templates to trim the existing sheetmetal and all the new parts to finish the job are included. Nice!

RACY ’70-’81 F-BODY FRONT SUSPENSION FROM UMI
New from UMI Performance are these 1970-1981 Camaro and Firebird Extended Coil-Over Mounts (P/N 2661). This weld-in upper coil-over mount kit locates true 2.5-inch racing coil-overs in the proper location for use with their P/N 2655 adjustable lower control arm (or most aftermarket coil-over compatible lower control arms). The kit features strong 3/16-inch laser-cut construction, quick-align mounting bolt, a 5.5-inch reinforcement ring, and templates for trimming the frame. UMI is proud to offer a wide range of shock absorbers and coil-over springs as a direct bolt-in for use with this kit. Cutting and welding is required, so installation by an experienced fabricator is highly recommended.
