The original Mustang is 55 years old, but it’s as relevant as ever. Featuring iconic stye, timeless lines and an endless aftermarket, it’s no wonder they’re still being restored and modified to this day. There are countless manufacturers catering the first-generation Mustang owner, including our friends at Flaming River.
Hailing from Northeast Ohio, they specialize in rack and pinion steering systems, as well as steering columns for some of our favorite muscle cars. Learn more about their latest release below.
Official Release:
1965-66 Mustang Tilt Column with Integrated Microsteer System
Flaming River now offers a great steering solution for the manual steering system in your 65-66 Mustang. This new column is mated with our Microsteer Electirc Power Asissted Steering system. The entire Microsteer unit is concealed behind the lower dash panel, so you keep your classic Mustang looking beautiful. Keep your Mustang interior clean with this new column and enjoy easier steering from your manual Mustang steering box or rack and pinion.
The column is available in a paintable mill finish or a polished stainless finish. We offer this as a column with the Microsteer integrated and also as a complete kit with a Flaming River Manual Rack and Pinion. If you want to complete the look of your classic Mustang, we can powder coat the mill finished column and the cradle to match your color choice! The kits are available with the Microsteer Column and Manual Rack and Pinion Cradle for OEM and aftermarket (Granada) spindles.
