Owning a piece of move memorabilia is one thing, but what’s it like owning something that once belonged to your favorite actor? While we’re sure there’s some of you out there that can relate, as you scour eBay for various trinkets once owned by the Hollywood elite, we can only imagine owning something as significant as an entire car from somebody like Sylvester Stallone.
The actor who brought the Rocky and Rambo film series to the big screen has once owned this killer, customized ’68 Corvette convertible from 2009-2011 as part of his personal collection. Now residing in a classic car dealer called Taggart Autosport in North Carolina, it can be yours for the princely sum of $129,999.
Sylvester Stallone’s former Corvette is one serious piece of machinery, reportedly packing a 510 cubic inches (8.3-liters) of Donovan big-block, making 660 hp and topped with Brodix heads. There’s also a Baer brake kit at all four corners, upgraded suspension, including a 5-link out back, ABS and backed by a manual 5-speed transmission
Stallone bought the car at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas in 2009 for $198,000, making the $70k slash in price look like a bargain. Although of course, you can’t really compare the going price at a premium auction house the actual retail value of something that’s sitting in a dealership showroom, can you?
There are various other mechanical modifications that we’re sure add to the overall value of this ’68 Vette, including the “Stallone” font etched into the side pipes. It does include a photo of Stallone behind the wheel, though, and his autograph on the vehicle’s registration. It’s not cheap, but how often can you say you owned Rambo’s Corvette?
