The 2014 Holley LS Fest was such an action-packed event that it had us running in all directions, trying to take everything in at once. Everything from drifting GTOs to 9-second CTS-Vs were in attendance, and just about everything we’ve seen had impressed us. Tons of F-bodies, Corvettes galore, and naturally, midsize late-model muscle like the G8 and Chevy SS were on hand taking part in the various activities available. Plenty of highly-modified trucks and SUVs, too!
Just the other day, Holley Performance Parts launched a brand new video on their YouTube channel that features some of the highlights of the event, including the engine swap challenge, drag racing, drifting, autocross, dyno pulls, car show, vendor displays, and the start and stop challenge. Plus, much more. For 2014, they’ve added a Gen-V/LT1 class, too! This video is a great way of getting a taste of the action in case you’ve never attended.
Oh, and just in case you weren’t aware, the event allows LS-powered vehicles of all makes and models into the event, not just late-model GM vehicles. So you’ll see plenty of classic GM musclecars, as well as imports, Mustangs, and pretty much anything else that you could squeeze an LS powerplant into – which mean we’ll probably see LS-swapped go-karts here soon, too. In all seriousness, it’s pretty much LS Heaven.
The vendors on hand are willing to answer any questions that you might have, regarding their products, and tips on swapping an LS into whatever project you’re working on. What better way to connect directly to the aftermarket and get advice from the experts, rather than relying on bad information and hearsay found in message forums and on social media?
The LS Fest also allows you to get up close and personal with many big name racers in the LS drag racing world, with guys like Ray Litz and Mark Carlylse wrenching on their cars in the pits. If you are one of the holdouts who still hasn’t attended this event yet, you should make it a point to schedule it in for next year! It’s totally worth it!
