The first-generation Camaro (and Firebird) is a platform of pony car that crosses so any different boundaries, every aspect of the car culture. Whether you’re into drag racing, road racing, autocross, or even use cruising to the local burger joint the first-gen GM F-body speaks to all car people.

The aftermarket is basically limitless, and Aldan American is another company that caters to these awesome cars. Recently, Aldan American had a customized, resto-mod ’69 Camaro roll through their shop that looked great on the surface, but was seriously lacking in the suspension department. Sure, there were some tubular A-arms and some other bodies, but the off-brand coil-overs were way out of wack. The spring rates are wrong, they were installed properly, and they were seemingly defective, anyway. Looking to remedy all of this, was Aldan American’s Gary Nelson.

Gary knows his way around just about every car out there, and first-gen Camaros are no different. He walks us through the process of removing the old parts, and installing Aldan’s coil-overs, properly, step-by-step. There’s a lot of important information in here, for those of you who haven’t installed a set of coil-overs before, or, those who have but may need to pick up a few quick tips.

Follow along with thew attached video for all of the details, and if you are a 1st-gen F-body owner, looking for coil-over options, be sure to check out Aldan’s offerings, HERE.
