VIDEO: Ken Block’s Gymkhana Seven 1965 Mustang Gets Wild in the Streets of L.A.

Ken Block, the co-founder of DC Shoes and world famous rallycross driver, is one of the most impressive drivers around today. While his professional/competitive skills are certainly top shelf, it’s his ability to capture our attention that makes Ken Block a rock star behind the wheel, especially with his Gymkhana cars. A 1965 Mustang is his vehicle of choice for this throwback, L.A.-based ‘Gymkhana 7’ video.

The all-wheel drive classic Mustang is a killer build — it replaced his old Ford Fiesta, although the Fiesta makes a huge comeback in Gymkhana 8. This Hoonicorn Mustang RTR puts out 845 horsepower, and its every bit as spectacular as you’d expect! It’s actually the only one of its kind — the only performance built all-wheel-drive out there.

This video is pure insanity, exactly what you’d expect from the Ken Block crew. In this Mustang (that you can probably hear from outer space), Block shows us once again why he’s the king of stunt driving. Once it’s cut loose from the warehouse where he does a monster AWD burnout, the pavement (and an ice cream cart) is in for some hurting.

Through the blocked off streets of Los Angeles it flies, down to the L.A. River (for those not from the area, it’s really not much of a river at all) for a quick dip and jaw-dropping maneuvers. Of course he had to make a quick stop at the famous Randy’s Donuts, to do some donuts, and he’s off to Chinatown.

No trip through the freeways of California is complete without a slow speed white Bronco police chase, so keep an eye out for that nod. We’re not sure what’s more impressive, his moves, or how they managed to make so much room for the ride throughout the infamously crowded Los Angeles roads. Either way, this is one of this best videos yet, maybe we’re partial because of the car used, but it is packed with about 12 minutes of intense driving and AWD Mustang action.
