Timeless Muscle Magazine Pays a Visit to the 12th-Annual Edelbrock Car Show!
Everyone loves a good car show, and the 12th-annual Edelbrock Car Show is no exception. While the threat of rain loomed over Vicâs Garage in Torrance, California, car show participants came out in force with well over 150 cars.
Hosted by the South Bay Mustang Ownerâs Club, the streets and adjacent parking lots were full of all kinds of hot rods and muscle cars with gorgeous paint jobs, and plenty of V-8 power under their hoods! There were games for the kids, food for everyone, and even live music!
People from all walks of life gathered to enjoy the festive atmosphere. In addition to the muscle, plenty of manufacturers set up booths along with Edelbrock’s own trailer, and tables set up for selling Edelbrock clothing and promotional goodies!
Some of the show’s finest cars were those owned and built by Edelbrock employees- they truly practice what they preach. Dennis Allen is a long-time Edelbrock employee and is the Fuel Room supervisor. His personal 1970 AMX looked evil in its matte-black finish. It’s stuffed full of genuine AMC V-8 power! Equipped with Edelbrock’s ProFlo EFI setup and a set of their aluminum cylinder heads, the 416ci mill spins a Doug Nash 5-speed transmission and a Moser rear axle. Great car!
Rob Simons is Edelbrock’s Vice President of Engineering, and his ’67 Firebird convertible is motivated by one of the company’s E-Force superchargers atop a 417ci LS3 V-8. The transmission is a T56 6-speed unit and the rear suspension is an independent design by Wayne Due, based on a Dana 44 center section. Love that candy apple red paint!
Vicâs Garage (Edelbrock’s personal car collection) was open for viewing, and you could see some great cars (like Smokey Yunick’s Camaro). There were even a few tours of the manufacturing facilities available for some fortunate car show participants.
The stance on this ’67 Chevelle was perfect, and it was also equipped with a full suite of Edelbrock equipment!
It was a fabulous day for everyone involved, and the heroes that were brave enough to bring their vehicles out rain or shine were greatly appreciated. Look for this show to get even bigger next year!
