Now more than ever, LS engine builds and swaps are hugely popular with the late-model crowd, hot rod builders and even classic muscle car aficionados. You can equip your LS-powered ride with various engines in multiple displacements, forms of boost and even an entire engine built from scratch! Even with high-dollar aftermarket engine blocks, cylinder heads and even intake manifolds, we often see many enthusiasts rely on a serpentine system from a junkyard donor or an over-the-counter alternative from a GM dealer.
We look at it this way; if you’re going to build an exceptional, show-worthy high-horsepower LS-powered monster, why not complete the package with an aftermarket, high-end serpentine system? After all, it’s one of the first things many others see when they look under your hood, right? Luckily, there are a number of alternatives on the market, chief among them, Concept One Pulleys.
Concept One, or C1 as they’re also known, has been producing pulley systems for Chevy and Ford engine for a number of years, among which, the LS-series kits have been the most popular. Available in a variety of finishes, accessory options and for basically every LS-series engine produced, C1 has just added one more kit to the market with their new, HD Victory Series system. Derived from their already available supercharger kits, it utilizes an 8-rib belt that provides 33% more grip and is designed for 500+ horsepower vehicles!
What makes it particularly interesting is the hardware that’s part of the kit. A Duramax tensioner, a heavy-duty A/C compressor bracket to prevent any unwanted flexing under high torque, and additional bracket that ties the alternator bracket to the water pump for additional support.
Available finishes include black anodized, clear anodized, polished or machined finish, with four optional alternators in 120amp, 165amp, 180amp and 220amp. They’re also designed for additional clearance issues for A/C pumps, steering gear boxes and for generally small engine compartments.
