Official Release:
TCI Steel Transmission Crossmembers: A Better Way to Support Your GM Transmission
Transmission crossmembers are pretty simple components, but there are some features you want to have. You want a crossmember that’s strong and lightweight. You also want it to be fully adjustable to fit most any transmission you want to use, easy to install using factory crossmember mounting holes, and have a durable finish so it won’t rust away. A TCI Steel Transmission Crossmember checks all of those boxes, so that’s the one you ought to get.
TCI Steel Crossmembers are compatible with popular GM manual and automatic transmissions. Some crossmembers are designed for use with GM 4L80E and TCI’s 4X four-speed and 6X six-speed automatics. They’re available for these vehicles:
• 1967-74 GM A-body, hardtop only
• 1967-69 Camaro/Firebird, 1968-72 Nova
• 1967-69 Camaro/Firebird, 1968-72 Nova, GM 4L80E, TCI 4X and 6X transmissions
• 1970-74 Camaro/Firebird
• 1975-81 Camaro/Firebird
• 1975-81 Camaro/Firebird, GM 4L80E, TCI 4X and 6X transmissions
• 1967-86 Chevy C10
Summit Racing carries a TCI Steel Transmission Crossmember to fit a GM 4L80E, TCI 4X, or TCI 6X transmission in a 1965-73 Mustang. The crossmember is adjustable from 32 to 36 inches in width, which also makes it ideal for use in street rods and tube-chassis vehicles.
