SAN ANTONIO (June 4, 2024)–Vintage Air, the leading manufacturer of complete performance air-conditioning systems for classics, hot rods and street rods, has announced the release of its new Gen 5 SureFit Kits for 1955-’56 and ‘57 Chevrolet vehicles. This complete bolt-in kit features an electronically controlled heat, cool, and defrost system, featuring an industry-first OEM-quality injection-molded case with separate heat and cool coils, a block-type expansion valve, and a high-capacity blower for rapid interior cooldown. Additionally, the system includes a control kit to seamlessly convert original control panels to electronic operation, accompanied by all necessary components for hassle-free installation.
The iconic Tri-Five Chevys marked Vintage Air’s inaugural venture into complete system design and manufacturing some 46 years ago. Now, in its 5th generation, the latest 1955-56 and 1957 Chevrolet Gen 5 SureFit Kits exemplify decades of refinement and technological advancements. These kits feature an, electronically controlled system that integrates the Magnum Max evaporator module, engineered to deliver unparalleled performance within the OEM dash package space. With servo motor-controlled doors, a high-capacity blower, and large 2.5-inch duct outlets, this system guarantees swift interior cooldown and consistently optimal temperatures year-round.
Featuring an all-new OEM-quality injection-molded case with separate heat and cool coils, rubber over-molded electronically controlled blend air doors, a block-type expansion valve, and a high-capacity blower motor, the Gen 5 SureFit systems come complete with a new wiring harness, hard lines, powder-coated mounting brackets, and firewall cover plate. Available options include a molded double louver center plenum vent package or 4 individual louvers for customized installations.
