In a few weeks, Mecum is going to take over Houston, TX, and it will have some beauties to auction off. During the event, 50 Corvettes, over 40 of them being classics, will be up for grabs. This should send Corvette enthusiasts from all over the world into an absolute frenzy!
Beginning April 14th and lasting through the 16th, attendees at the NRG Center in Houston will get their chance to add a Corvette or two to their collection. If you’re not lucky enough to be there, you can follow the coverage and highlights on NBCSN. There will be a little something for everyone, but the massive collection of Corvettes seems to be the focus of the event this year.
Any of these classic Vettes would be welcome in our garage, but there’s some rare finds mixed in there. These are the ones that are chumming the waters for the big bidders.
A big highlight will be the 1-of-63 1963 Corvette Z06 Tankers heading to the block. Similar cars have fetched in the high hundred of thousands in recent years. Not only is it rare, but it’s a well-documented car, and you know what that means for the value at auctions like these! That’s not the only split window heading to the auction, a handful more will go up for bid in Houston.
If you’re looking for something a little more on the extreme side, a supercharged 1964 convertible might be right up your alley. Or perhaps a 1967 with a 505 horsepower LS7 crate engine is more your style? A 1972 restomod equipped with an LS3 is bringing plenty of show and go to the event as well.
